developmentplus have received funding through Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) to organise a community event in September. It will be called the Museum of Mental Health and will be part of a larger initiative across the County called Creative Summer a programme of memorable community arts events presented by individuals and groups from across Lincolnshire, supported by the arts organisations that make up Lincolnshire One Venues and funded by a grant from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
Our event will showcase art and wellbeing activity across the City of Lincoln. We want to promote existing organisations and initiatives that give support in the community for people to come together in a safe environment to improve their wellbeing especially those experiencing mental and physical health challenges.
We will create a newspaper which will include a map showing where to find these community activities as well as holding a celebration event on Saturday September 17 2022, at Bridge Central in Lincoln where you can try out these activities and meet the organisations behind them.
We want to promote the message that art is for everyone and to encourage people after Covid to begin to get out and seek out your venues. We would like to support people to feel brave enough to express themselves creatively, encourage their talents and build support networks around their interests.
